Here's a photo sequence of a job with Tulip Street Railing with 5-1/2" built up or "wrapped" posts with the larger post caps. The customer requested square non-beveled edges on these caps like the photo immediately above. Notice the "wrapped" posts in this sequence. Most people favor the heavier look of the "wrapped post", it's a bit more expensive then the solid posts, but they won't check and split like the solid posts, and it makes for a much easier railing installation.
