Here are a few shots I've taken along the way....more to come.
Some rough cut post caps ready for hand sanding.
You can see the shine on the front 3 pieces that have been sanded and now ready for a finish coat of Penofin. |
Here's what they look like with one coat of Penofin for Hardwoods.
Notice the blemish on the right side of the middle cap. This is in the wood itself, and un-avoidable.
Hand sanding is a major part of the operation. |
These are natural wood products.
There will be some imperfections as is inherent in all wood. Here you can see some blemishes on the first and second pieces from the right.
Overall still very furniture like in appearance. They will be pleasingly smooth to the touch, no sharp edges. |
Each piece is cut, shaped, machine sanded, hand sanded, stained, then end waxed.
The final product has no sharp edges and is smooth to the touch. |
This is a 150 piece run of Tulip design Post Caps...stained and end waxed - ready for storage. We try to keep Tulip design Post Caps in stock for immediate shipment. Notice the different color tones. |
Notice the difference between the unfinished cap and the prefinished cap. A little bit of finish makes it look great. |
